Honey For Cough

Honey For Cough

Honey and lemon for coughs is an ancient remedy which soothes the throat and eases the symptoms of coughs and colds. While lemon is an anaesthetic, honey is antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory meaning it will fight infection and reduce swelling when combined in a warm drink.

The thick, smooth texture of honey on the throat creates a protective barrier providing long term comfort. More importantly, it tastes amazing and is an effective part of self-healing without resorting to symptom suppressing drug therapy when a seasonal cold comes calling.

Not all Honey is Equal!

It’s important to choose honey from a sustainable source. With the UK market currently being flooded by cheap, adulterated, imported honey which is often bulked with sugar syrup, it has never been more important to find a UK producer with provenance and sustainability as their ethos.

Northumberland Honey Co produces real, raw and pure honey on our family bee farm. Our bees forage on diverse nectar sources including heather, clover and lime trees creating our diverse range of honeys throughout the seasons.
