Hutch Family Honey brings together two things that have been part of our family for years: professional bee farming and Suzie’s passion for quality cosmetics and skincare.
As professional bee farmers, we produce our own British honey and beeswax. Suzie Hutchinson PhD has long had a passion for quality cosmetics and skincare and, with her scientific background in molecular nutrition, began developing our own natural skincare and natural cosmetics with a simple principle: the finished product has to work.
Today, our natural skincare products are developed in-house using carefully selected quality ingredients and undergo extensive real-world development and testing before release. Honey and beeswax produced by our own bees are at the heart of the range, giving Hutch Family Honey an unusually direct connection between professional bee farming, British honey production and the natural skincare and cosmetics our customers use every day.

Natural Skincare Made to Work
For us, being natural isn’t enough. Our skincare has to perform.
Every Hutch Family Honey skincare formulation starts with a real-world purpose. Rather than developing products simply to expand the range, we spend a minimum of 12 months developing and testing new formulations with real people before considering them ready for release.
Our Honey Lip Balm and Hand Cream were the first products in the range and the response since launch has helped reinforce the approach we took from the beginning. Customers don’t simply try our cosmetics – many come back to the range repeatedly.
That real-world experience matters. Alongside careful formulation and extensive testing, customer feedback, reviews and repeat purchasing help us understand how our natural skin care products perform when they leave us and become part of someone’s everyday routine.
If a product doesn’t perform, we don’t release it.

Our natural cosmetics are developed in-house by Suzie Hutchinson PhD, scientist, product developer and professional bee farmer.
Suzie’s PhD in Molecular Nutrition and scientific background bring a methodical approach to formulation and product development. Ingredients are not selected simply because they’re fashionable or because they sound good on a label. They are chosen with purpose and considered as part of the complete formulation – how the finished product feels, functions and performs in everyday use.
That approach is fundamental to how we develop our natural skincare products. We believe science and nature belong together: understanding ingredients, formulation and performance allows us to make better cosmetics while remaining true to the reasons we began developing the range.
Quality Ingredients, Chosen for a Reason
Good natural skincare begins with good ingredients – but the ingredient list alone doesn’t determine whether a product is good.
Our approach is to select quality ingredients for what they contribute to the finished formulation. Texture, absorption, consistency, stability and how a product feels during everyday use all matter.
This is why we don’t develop natural beauty products around trends or add ingredients simply for label appeal. Each product has to earn its place in the range as a complete formulation.

As professional bee farmers, we manage the colonies that produce our honey and beeswax. These ingredients aren’t bought simply to give our cosmetics a honey story: they’re part of what our family already produces.
Our own honey features across a growing number of Hutch Family Honey products, while beeswax plays an important role in products throughout the range. This gives our honey skincare and beeswax skincare genuine provenance and an unusually direct connection back to the farm.

Hutch Family Honey is created by Luke and Suzie Hutchinson and grew from our family’s professional bee-farming business in Northumberland.
Alongside producing British honey, raising bees and managing our colonies, we’ve developed a growing range of natural skincare and cosmetics that brings together Suzie’s passion for quality cosmetics and skincare, scientific product development and ingredients produced by our own bees.
