1.1 Payment is required at the time of booking by credit or debit card.
If you have a medical condition that might affect your ability to take part or follow instructions, please let us know so we can adapt the course to suit your requirements. We need to be also aware if you are particularly tall or take a larger size, in order to accommodate an appropriate bee suit.
Northumberland Honey Co is accessible directly from the parking area, there is a disabled access toilet off the shop area. Transfer to an apiary site may be required for courses and experiences in one of our 4×4 vehicles so you need to be able to transfer into and out of a vehicle to be able to undertake the experience.
For your safety, it is imperative that you follow your course tutors instructions at all times and adhere to safety briefings.
Unless agreed by prior arrangement participants must be over 17 years old. We can cater for younger participants but encourage this as part of a family booking or with a parent.
Smoking is not permitted on-site.
By agreeing to the booking conditions you give permission for Northumberland Honey Co to use any feedback or photographs from the course in future publicity.
When booking a place, please notify us of any food intolerance or allergies we need to be aware of.
Cancellation and Course Transfer Policy
Please contact us by telephone or e-mail if you need to cancel or transfer your course.
If you cancel or want a transfer at short notice, whilst we will make every effort to fill your place this is not always possible at short notice; the more notice you give us the better.
More than 30 days notice
A full refund will be given less an administration fee of £20 per person.
Between 2 & 30 days notice
If we are able to fill your place, you will receive a full refund, less an administration fee of £20 per person.
If we are unable to fill your place, you will receive a 50% refund, less an administration fee of £20 per person.
Less that 48 hours notice
No refund will be available.
Course Transfers – subject to availability
At least 30 days notice:
You will be transferred and charged an administration fee of £20 per person.
Between 2 & 30 days notice:
If we are able to fill your place, you will be transferred, and charged an administration fee of £20 per person.
If we are unable to fill your place, you will be transferred but charged 50% of the course cost and an administration fee of £20 per person.
Less than 48 hours notice:
No transfer or refund will be available.
Although unlikely, we do reserve the right to cancel a course due to circumstances beyond our control. If this occurs we will provide a free transfer to another course date of your choice, or alternatively we will provide a full refund with the exception of major circumstances, pandemics, social or economic circumstances etc beyond our control/ force majeure.
All administration fees for course transfers are payable in order to confirm the transfer.
Vouchers for experiences and courses are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase and must be used within this time. Extensions to gift vouchers may be given only at the discretion of Northumberland Honey Co and will incur an administration fee if given.
Failure to Attend
If you fail to attend on the scheduled appointment time/day and don’t give us any prior notice then this will be treated as forfeiture of the place and no refunds or re-booking will be permitted. Significant preparation is required for getting bees ready for the experience and staff time dedicated for this coupled with this place not being available for other participants.
