Founded by husband and wife Luke and Suzanne Hutchinson, our business manages hundreds of honey bee colonies across Northern England, producing British honey from our own hives, breeding queen bees and developing a range of products using our own honey and beeswax.
Through Hutch Family Honey, we bring our family identity and the provenance of our bee farm to the forefront of our honey and natural skincare products, connecting customers directly with the people and countryside behind what we produce.

Luke Hutchinson — Co-Founder & Professional Bee Farmer
A multi-generational beekeeper with over a decade of professional experience in the industry, Luke is Vice-Chair of the Bee Farmers’ Association of the United Kingdom and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers, one of the historic City of London livery companies with longstanding connections to beeswax and the beekeeping trade.
Luke is also a Freeman of the City of London and brings a practical understanding of commercial bee farming, honey production, queen breeding and the challenges facing British producers. His involvement in industry representation provides a broader perspective on the future of professional bee farming, training and apprenticeships.
Dr Suzanne (Suzie) Hutchinson — Co-Founder, Scientist & Professional Bee Farmer
Suzie holds a PhD in Molecular Nutrition from Newcastle University, combining her scientific background with extensive practical experience in commercial bee farming.
Alongside managing the company’s bee farming and honey production operations, Suzie has particular expertise in queen bee rearing, breeding and colony management, as well as leading the company’s in-house product development.
She oversees the development and formulation of the company’s natural skincare and cosmetics range, incorporating honey and beeswax produced by their own bees. This brings together scientific understanding, practical apiculture and the development of British-made products with traceable ingredients.
