National Honey Day Press Releases
Win Northumberland Honey on National Honey Day!
What is National Honey Day?
National Honey Day in the UK is celebrated annually on October 21st.
Publicity around the day was originally organized by the British Beekeepers’ Association (BBKA) to promote and celebrate British honey and has since spread far and wide, with organisations, beekeepers and beefarmers all promoting National Honey Day.
It encourages consumers to support local beekeepers and discover the unique taste and regional variations of local honey.
Beekeeping Practices

Northumberland Honey Co is one of the UKs largest queen bee breeders, with sustainability at the heart of what we do. We work tirelessly on advancing bee breeding from our own dedicated queen bee research laboratory improving the future breeding and genetics of our honeybees.
Our accreditations speak for themselves.
We are members of The Bee Farmers Association, work to SALSA standards, and are members of the DASH scheme. DASH is administered by FERA and stands for Disease Accreditation Scheme in Honey bees.
We take on apprentice beekeepers to train for a career in beekeeping, ensuring skills are passed onto the next generation, therefore helping to safeguard the future of the honey bee.
Insist on Provenance on National Honey Day
When it comes to harvesting honey, great care is taken to ensure traceability of each jar.
So when making your purchasing decisions on National Honey Day do take care to probe and ask questions on provenance so you know where your honey comes from!
From flower to jar you want to be sure to know where your honey comes from!
Use National Honey day to start a honey supply relationship with a trusted supplier, and start gaining the benefits of real pure raw honey.
